Style Me: A'deana

There's really nothing better than a multi-functional and multi-faceted article of clothing. A piece that you can dress up, dress down, accessorize and wear in an entirely different way depending on how your mood fits or the occasion at hand. Well, this dress is totally one of those pieces. I picked it up at Urban Outfitters this past summer, and although it looks quite unassuming on the hanger, it boasts the most forgiving (and glamorous) draping, the narrowest of hems, and the deepest raspberry color that all come together as a go-to frock for any occasion. My fabulous cousin, A'deana, agreed to be my inspiration for a little segment I'd like to call: One Dress, Three Ways.

As you can see, it's all about the accessories darling! Why not take some time to play around in your closet? Mix and match pieces you never thought to put together. Take risks with your color combinations. All you need to get out of a fashion rut is a little creativity and a lot of inspiration. (Look to your favorite fashion magazine or this lil blog for the latter) And in no time, you'll be making your wardrobe work for you!

Style Me: Shannon

In this installment of Style Me, Shannon is on the all-important search for the perfect pair of sunglasses before she heads away on vacay. Before our lil shopping jaunt, Shannon had convinced herself that sunglasses simply didn't work with her long, oval-shaped face. All but destined for a life of squinting, it was imperative for Elle to turn this around. After all, the ability to go incognegro at a moment's notice or instantly glam up any situation is priceless. Would we be able to find the perfect (inexpensive) pair and assure her that sunglasses are indeed her friend?

We tried on lots of different styles...

Armani Exchange $58

Marc by Marc Jacobs $90

Armani Exchange $58

Calvin Klein $55

Some just for giggles...

Geeky chic is just not Shannon...

"Where my Newports?"

"Seriously, where my Newports?"

Finally, we found the ones!

Round and slight cat-eyed with a retro feel, Shannon felt ultra-fab in these shades. And really ladies, the most important aspect of any look or trend is whether that particular item makes you feel gorgeous. If not, what's the point? And at $36, these Alfani sunglasses were a steal!

Success!

Style Me: Simone

Confidence is the most important part of personal style. It's the ability to belt a burlap sack and work it like you're on a catwalk in Milan. Remember people, sell it like the rent is due! Work your individual look fearlessly: head up, shoulders back.

But Elle, you ask, how do I tap into such supreme style confidence? No matter the label, the trend or the markdown, only buy pieces that flatter your specific shape. Pay great attention to fit, my loves. This is the key to feeling fabulous, every day, any outfit.

In today's Style Me, Simone wants to update her boho chic, very feminine, L.A. eccentric personal style with a few key pieces for Spring. In particular, Simone wants to add pretty but unpretentious tops and multi-functional accessories to her repertoire. Yellow, Spring's hottest hue, is the color focus.

Shall we begin?
