Now Wear This! Lorick New York

Gossip Girl is the new American obsession, and with good reason. Who doesn't want to watch a bunch of flawlessly beautiful rich kids prance around NYC with wallets larger than your purse? Besides the drama, wry humor and sex, the one program saving the CW from losing steam is all about the fashion. Not only have they totally inspired a prep school trend but they have also made the emerging high end line, Lorick NYC, popular.

Most of the viewers are familiar with Eleanor Wardolf and the drama behind her fashion line. But you may wonder where exactly these looks come from. Well, Abigail Lorick moved from her hometown of Amelia Island, Florida to Paris where she modeled for Alberta Ferretti and Mossimo and appeared on magazines like French Cosmopolitan, American Elle and American Harper's Bazaar. In 2003, she moved to New York City to study at FIT. Soon after, in the Spring of 2007, she launched her line, Lorick New York. This is Gossip Girl's secret weapon. All of Eleanor's clothing comes from this amazing line.

All of her collections have featured some amazing looks. In the Spring 2008, she played up the retro trend with many 50's and 60's inspired looks. She used bright yellows, oranges, blues, and tons of florals! These are two of the looks that caught my eye (above and below).

For Fall 2008, she went for a more regal tone, with tons of gold and deep shades like royal blue, rich teal, forest green, chocolate brown and basic black. Below are two of the looks I loved most.

The Spring 2009 collection was by far the most exciting and innovative to date. It has excellent use of feminine-masculine mix as well as a retro-modern mix. The silhouettes date all the way back to the Victorian era up to the innovative shapes of the future. She uses a range of colors from pure white to extensive use of Kelly Green. It was so hard to pick (I had about 10 looks spread out on my computer) but I narrowed it down to five.
