During the weekend of March 21-23, Brooklyn Fashion Week(end) took place at the Northside Piers in Williamsburg. Now in it's fifth year, the weekend celebrated the collections of a number of underground, emerging fashion designers. My job was to take in the sights and report back, so please excuse the picture quality and travel with me through the collections!
On Friday night, Catalin Botezatu showcased dramatic black dresses with vampy details like fur, sequin, feathers, sheer panels, ruffles and opera-length leather gloves.
On Saturday, his collection moved to swimwear with glamorous details. Lots of asymmetry, houndstooth, polka dots, metallics and cutouts.
Designer Nana Boateng's menswear collection featured this standout houndstooth fur collared coat and suits with a lot of detail at the neckline and pops of hot pink, purple and red.
Audrina from College Hill Season 3 opened the show for Joan Vaccianna in this leather look. Her collection featured high waists, tummy cinching belts and feminine details.
The Fuseik collection was almost all white with a focus on details. There was an Asian influence amidst the heavily constructed pieces.
Catou had a Parisian feel with statement coats, business suits, scarves and ascots.
This was just a snapshot of the fabulosity...you can check out Snaps & Daps for lots more runway pics from all of the featured designers!
