Joan Allen and boy toy :)
Hey lovebugs! Alas, we've come to the final chapter of my New York Fashion Week experience. Basically, its a heavenly hodgepodge of fashionable people, places and things I encountered during a dizzying week of parties, shows and events. In some ways, I'm still recovering. Open bar is a helluva drug.
First stop: the Ottavia et Emma party at the Bryant Park Hotel, overlooking the glitz and glam of the tents. Actress Joan Allen (above) was just one of the VIP's who came out to support emerging designer, Alessandra Coderoni.
Model in an Ottavia original
Coderoni's debut collection featured simple, functional silhouettes in the softest of natural fibers. Her silky sweaters are her staple! Chambord sponsored the open bar (yum) and the organic cotton gift bags were stuffed with fabulous products including beauty goodies from Elizabeth Grant (whose products I absolutely adore).

Later in the week we headed to Mansion for the New York Couture fashion show and party. Like the collection, the crowd was fabulously eclectic with an edge. We bellied up the bar immed-jet-ly, where I absolutely had to get a shot of this necklace, which she actually made herself!
I was digging the combination of his brown vest and jacket with his purple paisley shirt and tie. And of course, the glasses take it perfectly over the top. Um...wtf is going on with homegirl in the background?
I looked past this model's makeup (tragic) and fell hard for their New York Couture necklaces, which are available online!
These lovely ladies stood out from the crowd with their big beautiful ringlets! I love. We had a fab time living it up on the dance floor...hey Jeanina-luv!
I continue to be amazed at how dedicated this crew is to their style. They represent hip hop's roots, from high top fades to gold rope chains. History has a way of repeating itself.
So anyhoo, the fashion show was frilly, girly and colorful, with a definite punk feel. Lots of colored tights, bright metallics and interesting layering. Think "punk rock princess."
Corsets have always been a friend to the show. I'm all about nipping and tucking my waist into submission!
I was a fan of this tuffed up confection, after all, if you're going with poof you might as well take it to the extreme.
While the designer (middle in the pink tights) and her models celebrated a show well done, we skipped out with some great swag. Not only did my girl walk away with a bottle of wakka, but the gift bags included a silver bullet from Babeland. Score!
The next night, The Fashion Reporter and 4ourFront hosted a Fashion Week party at Nikki Beach. I stopped in for a quick minute, exchanging kisses and pleasantries until I was stopped in my tracks by these hot model twins...niiice.
Then it was off to the Ford Models party at France Origine, where singer and former Ford Model, Maiysha, was hosting the album release party for her debut album, This Much is True. Really cute wrap dress.
Hey boo! My law school BFF, Adia, showed love and came out with her best guy friend. It was a kuh-razy fun night.
The overwhelming theme of the show was ruffles! Sleeves, necklines and collars were absolutely enveloped by them, and I especially loved the pairing of this blouse with slim cigarette pants.
The designer showed a variety of one-shoulder silhouettes, and also played around with contrasting seams and piping.
This black and white gown with ruffled wings closed the show, which notably, was attended by a bunch of Project Runway Season 4 alums, who all sat together!
Of course the best part about Bryant Park is the people-watching. I stopped to chat with Cedric King, who you may remember from that Oprah show where Diddy was looking for a personal assistant via YouTube (thus, the idea for "I Want to Work for Diddy" was born). Well, Cedric was one of three finalists and although he lost (some say he was robbed), he's now working for the luxury jet company, BlueStar Jets and is looking like new money.
The pairing of a Fergie-esque hat, plaid shirt dress, leather jacket and booties has become ubiquitous in New York. I think especially loved her tights.
Hello gorgeous! Recent American Idol contestant and season one winner of Monique's Fat Chance, Joanne Borgella, was looking absolutely friggin fabulous. She recently debuted a fantastic jewelry line, Ella...stay tuned for an inawordfab exclusive interview!
OMG look...it's puppy lubbers Dawn and Que of Making The Band (security in tow). They happily hugged it up for the cameras.
For me it was all about Dawn. Que was nice enough to take our pic while their security guard teased me for kicking my foot up in this shot. I told him Tyra taught me to never forget about my body.
It was definitely appropriate that my most exciting shot of the night came last, when I spotted Alexis Phifer herself (Kanye's ex-boo) and had to go over. She looked amaaaazing in her oversized blazer, booties, and mini dress, which you could only tell was this shear on camera. Although she was on her way into a show, she was nice enough to stop and is truly stunning in person.
Wow, it was such a fabulous few days. Thanks so much to all the publicists and promoters for invitation/guest list/gift bag/velvet rope love and kisses to all who are pictured!
