Election Tribunal Sacks Adamawa State Governor

The drama in the April elections continues apace. The Adamawa State Election Petition Tribunal in its ruling moments ago has nullified the election of Governor Murtala Nyako on the ground that Ibrahim Bapetel, Action Congress' gubernatorial candidate's name was unlawfully removed in the April 14 election eve by EFCC on trumped-up indictment for fraud. The ruling states fresh election must be held "within 90 days."

However, Nyako is expected to appeal the ruling.
