'American Gangster'
Driving through Los Angeles and Hollywood, the billboards are all over with pictures of Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in a movie that opens today in all theatres. Universal Pictures withdrew in 2004 just as the movie was about to start shooting after spending nearly $30 million in pay or play deals. 'American Gangster' starring Washington as Frank Lucas, the drug lord and Crowe as Richie Roberts, the cop who tailed Lucas' rise and fall trafficking heroin from South East Asia to the shores of America has been tracked to top the weekend's box office.
