The Victory Dress

Our future First Lady celebrated her hubby's victory in a red and black frock from Narciso Rodriguez's Spring 2009 collection, paired with a black cardigan and sensible kitten heels. Cutely color-coordinated with the rest of the first family, Michelle smartly chose a dress with dark, slimming panels around the waist, a trick that flatters any figure. Although many fashion watchers were not a fan of her look, I thought she looked beautiful and statuesque. I may have chosen a sleek tuxedo jacket as a topper rather than the cardigan, but at the least it was an intriguing choice, and a welcome departure from a safe and boring pantsuit.

Word is that there are already plans in the works for famed New York based bridal designer Cassandra Bromfield to be Michelle's couturier for the upcoming Inauguration. How fabulous!

What did you think of Michelle's victory dress?
