Red Carpet Roundup: US' Hot Hollywood Bash

US Weekly hosted their annual Hot Hollywood fete and the stars hit the eggplant-colored carpet in style. Short, flirty dresses were definitely the theme of the night. Style Icon of The Year, Heidi Klum, looked simply fab in her purple mini dress by Project Runway runner up, Rami Kashou.

Adrienne Bailon gets high marks for this nude metallic dress, also by Rami Kashou, and sparkly blue sandals. I looove this look from head to toe.

Lauren Conrad chose an aqua Catherine Malandrino dress with large paillettes and Christian Louboutin heels. Blah. As the "Celebrity Designer of the Year," wouldn't it have made sense to wear one of her own designs?

Now this Catherine Malandrino dress is sooo much better. Jordana Brewster looks super sweet in this black and white dress with the most darling embroidered concentric circle details.

I love the super feminine draping and gorgeous ruffles on Lindsay Price's creamy champagne confection. Next time though, she should remember to carry blotting papers.

Cutie Christina Milian looked a tad tanorexic in her Louis Vuitton cocktail dress, but I like how she accessorized with a gold cuff, matching metallic bag and T-strap heels.

My favorite mess, Aubrey O'Day picked an Alice + Olivia mini dress with rosettes. Not a fan.

Sanaa can do no wrong in my book. Here she is in a trendy tiered dress and cream heels.

Lo looks oh so appropriate for a Hot Hollywood party and is showing just enough skin in this sheer navy frock.

Eve shined in her bright celery Jay Godfrey dress, I just wish she would have zipped the zipper. I'm so over her cleavage tats.


Poor, poor Rumer Willis. Despite her fabulously form fitting Herve Leger bandage dress, she puts the butt in butterface.

Vanity Fair Goes Hollywood

The annual Hollywood issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands Wednesday and the fold out cover features ten fresh-faced starlets doing vampy old-school glamour like it's supposed to be done, darling. I approve!

And the cover girls are: Emily Blunt from The Devil Wears Prada, Amy Adams from Enchanted, Jessica Biel of I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Anne Hathaway from The Devil Wears Prada, Ellen Page of Juno, America Ferrera of Ugly Betty, Alice Braga of I Am Legend, Zoe Saldana from Vantage Point, Elizabeth Banks from The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Ginnifer Goodwin of Big Love.

Of course, neither of the token minos made the true cover. Figures. But Zoe is working that Dior bathing suit.

And while we're on the topic of magazine covers, Miss Eve is on the Feb/Mar '08 cover of Bust Magazine.


Ummm, perhaps we should just add an E and a D onto that magazine title. Whoever did her makeup should be backslapped, fired and then shot. Or perhaps shot, backslapped and then fired. Whatever gets the point across.

2007 MTV VMAs: Fashion Recap

So...last night's MTV Video Music Awards were kind of a snore but the fashion hits and misses did not disappoint. Let's get to it, shall we?

It's All About the Color

Three colors ruled the red carpet: Hot Pink, Black and Gold

Both Rihanna and Megan Fox sparkled in the hottest of pinks. They looked young and fresh, perfect for the VMA's!

A. Keys and Rosario Dawson went back to black in form-fitting LBD's (lil black dresses). Rosario looked fab and although it was a tad severe, I was a fan of Alicia's look. She definitely pulled it off!

Nelly Furtado and Ashlee Simpson on the other hand, should have went back to bed. Nelly's hair looks overprocessed and as disheveled as her silk pantsuit. And Ashlee love, your look is speaking volumes and it is saying "anorexic cat." Can you try less eyeliner next time, for me?

Miss Yonce and Eve were both living life like it was golden; Beyonce in a gorgeously draped goddess gown, slit up to there (that looked much better on television) and Eve in a sparkly number that was quite similar to what Beyonce wore to the 2003 VMAs. Eve's stylist should really do her homework.

Nicole Scherzingleberries of PCD got the memo and decided to try to outdo them all by wearing...wait for it...black AND gold. Someone should have told her to focus on wearing one hemline.

And how could I forget J.Hud? She was also rockin the black and gold. Cute dress but her wig is making me itch.

Best Dressed
Once again, Rihanna gets my coveted Best Dressed award! (Note to RiRi: Your biscuit is in the mail). She was simply gorgeous in her Jessica Rabbit-esque gown that fit her to within an inch of its life. The color popped and kept the look young, while her neutral makeup was the perfect accompaniment. Definitely the showstopper of the evening.

Worst Dressed (by far)

Yes, Lil Mama did show up in this coon-tastic mess of an outfit. And yes, I did just say coon-tastic. When asked what the hell she was thinking, she replied, "This is the birth of hip-pop and I'm the baby." I had to keep from reaching out and slapping her through my television. She should have just kept it real and said that she wanted to look like a sparkly Easter egg threw up on her. At least she would have had my respect.

So Totally 80's

Yes, people. Hate it or love it, 80's fashion is back. This trend is really picking up speed, most noticably in the urbanwear/hip hop market. Chris Brown went for a totally 80's look at the recent BET Awards, while Eve's video for "Tambourine," a multicolored mishmash of neon spandex, vivid makeup and ultra tight minis, is clearly channeling the excess that was 80's fashion.

In that same vein, Kanye West is right on target with these retro sunglasses from both his new video "Stronger" and his performance at Sunday's Concert for Diana. Kanye, whose Louis Vuitton collection would probably make KLS* drool, apparently went to famed glasses maker Alain Mikli with a photo of the style he was going for. The collaboration resulted in the above white plastic frames with no lenses, an unmistakable ode to the 80's.

Fashion Recap: 2007 BET Awards

This I know for sure: when E! goes Live From the Red Carpet at your awards show, you better believe you are doing something right. The good people at BET have once again proven that they can put on the most entertaining, surprising, and just plain ol' fun show of its kind. The celebs did not disappoint, giving us one fantabulous show, and for the most part, looking great while they were at it.

Diana Ross is just the end all and be all. At 63, she remains the icon of fabulosity and the epitome of glamour and style. Her crimson Grecian column is simply gorgeous. Heaven, please be Diana's walk-in closet.

With each passing day, my love for Rihanna grows and grows. (sniff) Her white strapless number is effortlessly chic and she just looks like a star. Flawless.

Although I wasn't loving her gown (the coloring just didn't do it for me), Alicia Keys gave good face last night. She looked fresh, confident and absolutely beautiful. CoverGirl, get this girl a contract, stat!

Miss B is truly my tranny fantasy. Freshly back from St. Tropez, she is rocking a metallic, corseted, glam-tastical gown for the ages. Don't ask why, ask why not?

Erykah gave me the sweetest hangover in her divalicious odes to the 70's, while Chris Brown pays homage to the 80's babies with his adidas track suit and funky glasses. He even sported cuts in his fade! Oh nostalgia...

Eve: Best Comeback From Disaster

Eve had me worried on the red carpet. The hair is way too long and blond (I loved her short bob from a few weeks ago) and the cheetah dress and paw print tats turned her into some sort of jungle cat. But all was right with the world when she entered stage left into Kelly Rowland's performance with a belted, cream mini dress with shoulder cutouts and thigh high black boots! Deliciously fab!

Yolanda Adams and Kim Coles: The Fug Has Found You

Yolanda is a gorgeous woman but someone should have snatched that belt off of her before pushing her onstage. Gold? Of course! Silver? Absolutely! Gold and silver together? A resounding no.

And Kim, Kim, Kim, do you not read the blog? Colored animal prints are inaword tacky, my love. Your necklace is not helping matters. People who know better, do better, mkay?

One time for the 2007 BET Awards! And remember my darlings, fab is a state of mind...
