What were you wearing New Years Eve?

So wrong, Tila
asdfasdf
Well, another New Year's Eve has come and gone. Whether you tore the club up, shared a romantic meal with your man, laughed with a few friends at home, or slept through the shenanigans, I hope you had a blast. Of course, the celebs were out and about to celebrate '08, so here's a smattering of looks from NYE:

Mimi went short, white and (not suprisingly) skintight

Paris chose a colorblocked sequin mini

Vanessa Simmons was elegant in chiffon ruffles

Jennifer Hudson looked luscious in a snug satin suit

Kelis looks cute...and birdlike

Mandy Moore in a bubble skirted dress...so 2007

Ashlee and Pete...not much to say except I like Ashlee's shoes!

Kim K. shows off her curves in Cavalli and the best accessory a girl can have, a hot man!

Ditto for Posh on the hot man bit, and I'm loving the dress, but everything about her here looks scarily overexaggerated...yikes

As for me, your girl Elle debuted her gold lamé American Apparel leggings, paired them with a cream shawl neck tunic-style sweater from Ann Taylor Loft, and spent a debaucherous evening at home with my b*tches. Do share, darling: what were you wearing New Years Eve?

Fashion Recap: 2007 MTV Movie Awards

The 2007 MTV Movie Awards, though admittedly not required viewing for serious fashion trackers, did offer up a few summery trends that are both covet-worthy and easy to duplicate. Let's take a look...

Paint the Town Red

It's no wonder that the color red is hotter than ever, it's classic, sexy and sweetly sophisticated.

Jessica's Alba's hemline, on the other hand, which I was horrified to notice on more than one dress at the show, is none of the above.

Who Wears Short Shorts?

I don't, and if you are anything but a tall, leggy model-type, I would seriously advise against you adopting this trend. However, on the right body, short shorts are a perfectly fun trend to try this summer. Paired with a slouchy tank, it's L.A. inspired dressing at its best.

Tunics and then More Tunics

Tunic-style dressing is here to stay. Whether worn alone, with jeans or with leggings, tunics and oversized t-shirts will carry you through Fall with ease.

Best Dressed: Rihanna

From the fierce jet-black bob to the sweeping lines of her gown, Rihanna was a breath of fresh air on the red carpet. Yup, she can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella...yeah you know where that's going.

Worst Dressed: Victoria Beckham

Your girl Elle is all about an animal print, but somewhere between the pink bra, washed out hair and hooker pose, Vicki went tragically wrong. Better luck next time!

So ladies, let's take these red-carpet do's to the streets! And leave the don'ts at home.
Until next time, be fab!
