Intern Out About Town: Heatwave 8.0

It's been a while, but as you all know, it's never too late for an Out About Town post! Back in July, there was a Heatwave in Brooklyn! NYC experienced some of the hottest weather of the year, but that's not what we're talking about. Heatwave 8.0, the annual picnic held in Prospect Park, was once again hosted by MIH, a full-service networking organization that specializes in event planning and promotions.

Every year, hundreds of people from all over the Tri-State area bring out their blankets, coolers, chairs, umbrellas, and of course, summer fashions for the event of the year. Here are some flix I was able to manage in the middle of copious eating and chatting:

I noticed the guys turned it up this year…like these fellas who were feeling the heat in long shorts and bright colors.

These dope patchwork sneakers completed the look of the dude in pink.

Perfect for the heat, this woman paired her flowing dress with a hat and shades for a glamtastic look.

Three of these ladies followed the trend of colorful dresses in unique patterns, while the other stuck to classic white and khaki for summer.

I was caught by the fab peachy bubble dress, but I think I walked over to take a closer look at the straw hats...oh, and to check and see if those were shorts or capri's on dude in the middle.

Maxi dresses were ALL the rage…these were just two of my faves.

You just know he wanted to be seen in these red jeans, a trend I'm noticing more men are picking up on now. Loving the pose.
I loved the tube and spaghetti strap shapes that are so often overlooked!

It was quite the family affair: the cute do on the woman in blue got me over there quick but I decided a pic of the whole fam was necessary once I spotted the straw hat, the floral cami and little dude in the shades!

Winner of man with the best accessory award! I personally would not want my boyfriend to wear a man bag, but I felt he carried it off quite well...though I have to wonder what he keeps in that thing!

Winner of woman with the best accessory award! I love the bike as an accessory now a days! And like a true tree lover, she not only rides green but peep the American Apparel cloth tote.
I had to get a pic of my assistant for the day, Akimsa, in an adorable pink satin shirt that she dangerously pulled off with leopard flats!

And here it is…yours truly in my work attire. I told you I go nowhere without my heels!
