Hi honeybuns! Remember back in February we gabbed about how purple was going to be the hot hue of 2008? Well these two ladies have proven just how sizzling royal purple can be. Fiyah!!!!

On Monday, Charlize Theron was absolutely stunning in frilly purple tiers at the Christian Dior Cruise 2009 show in NYC, while my girl Kelly RoRo chose a sexy/sweet Donna Karan origami dress for the Sex and the City premiere across the pond in London. Each looks simply smashing in their own unique way.

Bright color is absolutely everywhere this season, and orange is becoming a go to hue for sweet summery dresses. After all, this is one color that can make your tanned skin gorgeously glowy. In particular, the Alice + Olivia Floral Poof Dress has been quite popular with young starlets on the scene. Up and comer Keri Hilson wore hers with a big smile at the 2008 Ascap Awards.

Khloe Kardashian decided to tie the belt in the back and pair it with a metallic clutch at a Lisa Kline event in L.A.

DK dollface Aubrey O'Day wore hers super short with gold accessories in Vegas.

Although she clearly didn't get the memo about the Alice + Olivia mini, Jordin Sparks rocked a similar color and silouhette at the 2008 Kids Choice Awards.

Both Audrina "Dead Eyes" Patridge and Paris Hilton have been spotted in this LaROK Studded Jersey Racer Back dress. Paris over-excessorized her navy version with a cardigan, brimmed hat and aviators, while Audrina kept it relatively simple in all black.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose was spotted backstage at Rip the Runway in a sequined frock from the Tracy Reese 2008 collection and Twiggy wore a similarly layered look by Stella McCartney at the Elle Style Awards.

I'm not a huge fan of either look, but these pictures did get me thinking. The idea of layering a short summery tank dress over a long sleeved top is a cool way to get the most out of your wardrobe, especially in that awkward period in-between seasons. Your safest best to try this out at home is to pair the solid-colored tank dress that was your summer staple over a thin, long-sleeved black tee with black opaque tights. You could even up the ante by piling on a blazer and cinching it all together with a belt.

Simple, red mini dresses with shine are oh so popular with the young starlets this week. Laguna b*tch Kristin Cavallari wore hers with gold accessories to celebrate her 21st in Vegas...

Miley Cyrus rocked hers with a black leather jacket and a new haircolor en route to Morton's in Georgetown...

...and Amanda Bynes took a more casual approach over jeans and silver platforms at a screening in Palm Springs.

Star Jones is a biter! You just know she saw the pics of Sharon Stone with her animal carcass at the amFar Benefit in Rome on Friday and said, "I have to have it!" Star attended the 2007 Angel Ball in NYC on Monday night in the same shimmery gun metal halter dress and with similar accessories: a fur, diamonds and clutch. But that really does beg the question, what other way is there to accessorize? Divas after my own heart!

A tale of two fugs...

I hate this dress. B-list celebs on the other hand, freakin love it. Vivica wore it at the 2007 BET Awards, while Jenny McCarthy rocked it this past weekend at Vicki and David Beckham's Welcome Party in L.A. In my book, Jenny has the edge here because at least hers doesn't resemble body paint. Take it one size up next time, Viv.
