Out About Town: If Looks Could Kill

Crap! Work (law and stuff) has totally, inexplicably, and distressingly blown up on me. It's actually been quite a inconvenience to my regularly scheduled blogging, shopping, event attending and champagne swilling. But Rick Ross has nothing on your girl. I'm still out and about on the reg, but posts such as these have to get in where they fit in. Thanks for your understanding.

So who remembers when I was crazy in love with Eric Benet? Anyone who knew me when knows that I had an irrational obsession with the man, the music and anything having anything to do with the man and his music. I've since moved on to newer, fresher targets for stalkation but I will always be true to my Eric. So it was a no brainer that I would attend his recent promo performance for his new album, Love & Life, at Spotlight Live. Really cool venue, really great show and it was so nostalgic doing my white girl wooo! for Eric again.

After posing for a quick pic, it was off to the Essence/Toyota event feting "If Looks Could Kill." We were busy with Eric and missed the Ghita fashion show and Keyshia Cole performance, but you know I'm all about the partygoers anyway. Take a look at some of the fabulous people I met...

First met Kwasi at the Roots party last month. Still love his style.

I'm diggin the preppy look and green is everywhere for Fall '08.

Smiley, happy (and liquored up) people.

I'm such a sucker for a suit.

White and gold is so perfect for summer.

All in all, it was fun time and it was all to celebrate the launch of Toyota's new webisodes, "If Looks Could Kill." I asked my darling Nastasia to give her take on the first webisode in the series, "Haute Pursuit."

In Haute Pursuit, the first episode on iflookscouldkill.com, we are introduced to Bianca. She has a dream job at House of Champagne as an assistant Fashion Designer, a hot banker boyfriend, a cute little car and what looks like a nice place to live. And just as you think life for Miss B is perfect, you realize she has a few skeletons in her closet as well. After Bianca's purse is stolen, viewers are asked to help her as she tries to find it and unlock the mystery behind why it was taken in the first place. The upside to being her go-to mystery-solving assistant? The fabulous prizes you can win! Once you've registered, you are eligible to win a prize that changes with each episode. For Haute Pursuit, it was iPod Nano's, $1OO Visa Gift Cards, or $75 Nordstrom Gift Cards. You can enter to win up until June 22.

As far as the actual webisode, the first was kind of piecey, which is normal for shows or movies where you have to be introduced to the characters and their stories. I was definitely entertained; it's a bit like I was watching the adult version of Blue's Clue's the way she asks for help! It's fun to be interactive and it gives you some time off from everything else in the world which keeps you coming back... like a really good soap opera! I'm looking forward to the next episode on June 23! Check it out for yourself at www.iflookscouldkill.com.
