Life's a Beach

"It is TOO hot out here!" was the phrase I heard from my friend's mouth the most while on our recent trip to Atlanta. We were actually looking forward to the cool off that NYC would promise, just to meet another heat wave! That kept me inside, for the most part, but now that the heat has subsided, it's off to the beach for me! So for those of you who are planning on joining me, here are the trendiest bathing suit styles for this summer.

This Beach Sexy (yes that is the name of the brand) bandeau one piece Monokini is a hot item. And with some jeans it makes an awesome party outfit! Just watch out for some crazy tan lines...

Roxy X Back Halter Top and Low Rise Bottom $40 (top) and $34 (bottom)

The color blocking trend is not just in for dresses, you can have some fun with this Roxy Multicolored Halter Top and Low Rise Bottom bikini.

Kenneth Cole Reaction Ruched top and bottom $34 (top) and $37 (bottom)

For those of us who are bootylicious babes who don't like to flaunt it (not everyone can be a pre-Marc Anthony J.Lo) we have a Kenneth Cole Reaction Ruched top and on-trend ruffled bottom.

Mary Ann Mehlhorn Halter One Piece $133

We aren't all into the whole two-piece scene and this summer has continued the look of last summer with brights! Beyonce and Rihanna have been spotted in neon-colored nails from pink to blue to lime green. And yes, I have my neon orange polish on right now! So this canary yellow one-piece is great for being seen!

Robin Piccone Tankini Top and High Waisted Bottom $98 (top) and $54 (bottom)

I told my friend in late February that I was sure florals would be the trend for this season, and sure enough I walked into a frickin flower shop during my drop in at H&M this morning. But it's not only for walking the streets. You can totally rock flowers in the sand with this Robin Piccone Tankini.

Becca by Rebecca Virtue Oval Ring Halter Top and Scoop Bottom $31

My second favorite swimsuit trend is mix and matched separates. You can wear one color on top and one color on the bottom like this Becca by Rebecca Virtue suit or you can wear print on the top and solid on the bottom. It's only fun to wear two different prints if you can make it cute... use your fashion common sense!

American Apparel Two Tone One Piece $36

Lastly, a bathing suit post wouldn't be complete without American Apparel! This Two Tone One-Piece can be paired with jean short shorts, cute summer sandals, and an awesome pair of shades for a hot little outfit perfect for a summer BBQ!

And don't forget to wear sunscreen! Aveeno Continuous Protection is American Academy of Dermatology approved and costs only $9.99 at Walgreens.com! You can get it in 30 SPF for those who still want a little color all the way up to 70 SPF for those who burn easily, and it's made with natural soy proteins and antioxidants!
