Foreign reserves drop, banks' lending rate rises

NIGERIA'S foreign reserves has dropped by more than $2 billion from $61.4 billion in the middle of May this year to $59.3 billion as at July 2. Senate Rejects New Revenue Formula

The Senate has returned the new revenue formula to Aso Rock because of technical defects. President Umaru Yar'Adua had sent in the document two weeks ago, proposing that the Federal Government should get 53.69 per cent of federally collected revenue, states 31.1 per cent, and councils 15.21 per cent.
