Happy Fashion Week!

Seventies Side Eye

Hello my loves! I can feel the side eyes from here, as I have been hopelessly MIA from this here blog. So where have I been? Being a lawyer (my bosses actually expect me to work, the nerve), drafting my next exclusive (featuring Luke Destin, Oprah's fashion stylist, yay!), being fabulous (it's exhausting) and planning my world takeover. Endless apologies...I've missed you all!

Currently, I am all up and through the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tents, so I can bring you the trends and fashion tidbits you need! Next stop, Paris Fashion Week!

Thank you for all of your positive energy and dazzling love...

Stay devastingly fab, Elle

I Love This Blog: Corporette

As a lawyer by day/fashion editor by night, my two lives often meet somewhere in the middle. And going home to change is not always an option! For that reason, I may pair a pencil skirt with a tuxedo jacket and T-strap heels when going from work to a cocktail function, or cover a ruffled dress with a tweed vest and kitten heels when going straight to an after work fashion launch. It's a delicate balance, but corporate chicks can bring the fabulous too!

That's why I have fallen head over heels in love with Corporette.com, a fashion and lifestyle blog for lawyers, bankers, MBAs, consultants, and otherwise overachieving divas! Full of helpful tips for business dress, interviewing, etiquette and the like, Corporette is a go-to guide for us girls who are juggling both a demanding career and a love of fashion.

Check it out for yourself! www.corporette.com

Out About Town: "I Gotta Mean Shoe Game"

Al of the Minority Report, Elle and Stas the Intern

Hey cupcakes! Elle, here, with another Out About Town situation. Friday night. Just got paid. Wicked shoe game. So of course I headed to BK for "I Gotta Mean Shoe Game." This party was so much fun! And I'm not just saying that because my guy Al from The Minority Report was nice enough to ask me to host. And I'm also not just saying that because I was deemed to have the (second) hottest shoe game in the building (I was cheated). It was really and truly pure unadulterated fun. Dancing, laughing, cocktails and faabulous shoes! Thanks to all who came out!

My winning (or losing depending on your pespective) shoes on left, and Stas's fierce tuxedo-inspired pair on the right.

Gotta Mean Shoe Game?

Ladies, can you Naomi Campbell walk in the sickest of heels with the best of them? Do you specialize in skipping along city streets a la Carrie Bradshaw in the loveliest of Louboutin's, chicest of Chanel's, trendiest of Topshop's, or even the cutest of Kohl's? Gotta mean shoe game to match your big ego? Then you simply must come out and help me continue to celebrate my birthday (yes, I'm still celebrating) as I host "I Gotta Mean Shoe Game," a Salute to the Almighty Shoe, this Friday, May 29 at Tamboril in Brooklyn!

I want to see all my BK divas and the men who love them. Fellas with a foot fetish? This is right up your alley! Be there as I debut the newest (and dare I say hottest) kicks in my collection.

TV Timeout

Ummmm...has anyone seen my motivation? Seriously, the change in seasons has me in straight hibernation mode. All I want to do these days is lie on my couch, watch trash television and snack my life away. Fabulous parties, fashion events and free cocktails...meh. The very things that just a few weeks ago had me out and about constantly are so not providing the same incentive. And I'm actually okay with that. I know the wild child/party girl in me is just taking a disco nap, and will be back in full swing momentarily. In the meantime, I'm enjoying a much needed TV timeout. There's some really good/really bad TV on! Here's a few things that keep me glued to my tube...

The Way It Is: Season 3, chile! Keyshia with her new veneers, Neffe with her new baby and Frankie with her same ol' crackish tendencies...damn all of you! The wig changes on this show alone keep me in stitches. Hollah!

I am so ashamed but Maury is one of the guiltiest pleasures of all time. When I can catch a paternity or lie detector episode, my day has officially been made.

If you're not watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta, seriously, what are you doing with your spare time? These bishes are a hilarious mess. Team NeNe! BUT, to provide full disclosure, when I took the Which Housewife Are You? test, I was Sheree! Please excuse my classy.

Top Chef is back! Competitive drama and droolworthy food equals quality television in my book! So far, Carla is my fave. She has a quirky personality and she depends on her spirit guides to tell her what to cook. I love it. And is that an animal print skinny belt over the chef's jacket? Fierce.

Omg am I the only one watching 20/20 on WE? Probably, but I am always down for some salacious investigative reporting and true-crime stories. And my girl, Deborah Roberts, is the host! She has this look she gives people she's interviewing that's a mix of pity, compassion and "What da hell were you thinking?"

And this weekend, Miss B is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live!!!! Live performances of "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies" means I will be there with bells on. I'm still on the lookout for a mechanical glove of my own. Can't wait!

Sooo, what shows are on your must watch list?

Supermodel of the World

Dee-vahs! How are we? I hope you're all delightfully dazzling! So this past weekend, your girl Elle made her runway debut in the legendary Cornell Simpkins Fashion Extravaganza in the cosmopolitan hub of Northern New Jersey...Newark, darling. Yes, honey it was one to remember. I'll have pics/video at some point but all I have to say is, I walked on the same runway as the one and only, Andre J.! I can totally die now.

Seriously, this is the second of my Models of the Moment that I've met! The first was my first ever Model of the Moment, Miguel Perdomo. I think I'm still reeling from that close encounter...my God he's hot. Really though, I am manifesting models left and right! This begs the question...who should I manifest next????

Out and About: DC Birthday Weekend

Over Memorial Day weekend, your girl Elle officially turned the big 2-9, so it was only right that me and the girls took a quick trip down to DC to celebrate. It was actually a pretty subdued weekend (for us), with the focus being eating, relaxing, sleeping and more eating. Lovely. I'll spare you the minute by minute deets, but in case you're interested, I've posted my weekend looks...plus Amanda Lepore!

On Saturday night, I wore the infamous Neiman's Theory dress and a tuxedo jacket to dinner at Oya.

After a sufficient amount of Dirty Martini's, we hit up B Bar where drag legend Amanda Lepore was performing.

"I Drink Champagne In The Morning, I Drink Champagne In The Afternoon, I Drink Champagne In The Bubble Bath, I Drink Champagne In My Dressing Room..."

We first ran into each other back at the Edwing D'Angelo show, but it is, of course, always a pleasure. Love me some Amanda.

Sunday was a gorgeous day. I wore this vintage maxi dress to lunch and cocktails at Sequoia on the Georgetown Waterfront.

Then on Sunday night we made our way to a rooftop party with fabulous views of the city. I wore one of my favorite LBD's by H&M. "Da whut?" you may ask, "is that curious blue thing on my head?" Well, I told you I was into interesting headwear these days. This feather fascinator from ASOS fit the bill perfectly. It definitely inspired strong feelings; people either loved it or hated on it.

Fun birthday times. Thanks so much to everyone who joined me in bringing in another year of fabulosity!
