Marilyn Uncovered

Never before released photos of the matchless Marilyn Monroe were uncovered by Life.com last month. Sweetly sexy in bikini top and high-waisted shorts, the 24-year-old budding model and actress likely took the photos for a cover shoot that never went to print. It seems that no one at Life.com even knew they were ever taken.

"She [hadn't] really exploded as a star, yet she was on the brink of something big," says Dawnie Walton, deputy editor at Life.com, who stumbled upon the rare photographs while streaming through the 7 million photograph's in the company's digital archives.

What a fabulous find! Simply, beautifully Marilyn in all her (pre-drug, sex and rock and roll) glory.

Nicole Richie does Lady GaGa

I may be uber-late with this post, but a fabulous editorial shoot has no expiration date! I simply had to comment on the maternally fab Nicole Richie's spot-on imitation of Lady GaGa in April's Music Issue of BlackBook.

Wearing platinum blond bangs, gold nails and diamond-encrusted jewelry, Nicole channeled the eighties in a ton of spandex and neon. I love that this is such a departure from her usual boho-chic styling. Enjoy!

Lakshmi Menon taps into her "Divine Power"

Model Lakshmi Menon is a bronze goddess in Dolce & Gabbana on the April 2009 cover of Dazed and Confused. Dripping in gold chains, bright colors and regalia fit for a queen, Lakshmi is playing the part perfectly. Well done, doll!

Breaking! Posh Chopped Her Mop!

Our darling diva deluxe, Vicki B., who has famously donned some version of the "Posh" angled bob for almost two years now, has gone full on pixie, people! She debuted her oh-so-chic cropped mop, which is giving me a very sixties, "Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby" vibe, last night at the Marc Jacobs show. I am living for this cut! Short hair is the new weave, didn't you know? And yes, this is breaking news in my world.

Ms. Becks kept her head-to-toe look simple and elegant in an all-black ultra-slim silouhette; very French, darling. The chunky bangle is a perfectly trendy accent. (Chunky jewelry is all over the S/S '09 runways!)

And would you look at these pictures of Posh and J. Lo trying to outfierce each other? I could die.

Love it! So, tell me, what do you think of Posh's new look?

Fab Look of the Day

Now this is what I call an orange crush. Veteran British model Erin O'Connor has totally stolen my heart in this dreamy tangerine-colored Ashley Isham dress she wore to the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition Party in London. I love how the haircut and complete absence of jewelry puts the spotlight where it should be: her striking face. And the dress! Confection perfection in the most of-the-moment shade. The black belt pulls everything together and the gold Swarovski bag adds just the right amount of sparkle. Seriously, honey, this look is sweet!

Perfection!

Seriously, someone give this girl a medal. If she didn't do it before, Rihanna has completely and totally stolen my heart with this photo shoot for Elle. First of all, the styling is amazing so that helps. But more importantly, the range of her posing, the different faces she is giving and how she is working her angles gives what looks to be a simple shoot that fierce factor that I love. Well played, Ri Ri!

I will SO be stealing some of these poses for my next impromptu photo shoot. You can too! All it takes is a little time in the mirror (all these years of watching ANTM has taught me nothing if not that). The next time you are either feeling fabulous, have had a few cocktails, have on your favorite outfit or are just plain ol' bored (but feeling good about yourself), spend a few moments in front of a full-length mirror. This is so important. Stand up straight. Relax and breathe. Get comfortable staring at your whole delectable body. Tell yourself that you are beautiful (flaws and all). Say it until you really mean it.

Now it's time to work! Try out different things. Hands on hips. Swivel your waist. Turn in your knees. Angle your neck left, then right. Give a mean mug and look hard. Now smile and flirt with your eyes. Turn your back and look over your shoulder. Try a couture pose or something from a fashion mag. Lie on the floor and arch your back. Have fun with it! The more drama, the better...who knows what you'll come up with? What looks best? What looks forced? You won't know until you try! Then, the next time someone whips out their digi cam, you'll be ready for your closeup!

The Stretch Bicycle lives!

Just when I think all is lost, my evil twin F.U. sends me a picture of my favorite ferocious pose, the Stretch Bicycle, and all is right with the world. It's really the pose that keeps on giving. Here is the delightful Amerie, working it like nobody's business. Check out my other favorite Stretch Bicycle poses, here...

Thanks boo!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt + Claudia Schiffer...

...equals hot! In the April issue of GQ, child actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and uber-model Claudia Schiffer are having some kinky-licious fun. JGL is certainly all grown up (remember him from 3rd Rock from the Sun?) and Claudia was clearly in need of some discipline. Ms. Schiffer also must come from the open-mouth school of sexy posing. No matter, I am loving everything about this photoshoot. Enjoy!

This makes mother proud...

Work! Stacyann wore me out last night on ANTM with her perfectly executed Stretch Bicycle! It gets no fiercer. And my girl, Claire, never to be outdone, is working Stacyann's leg like the rent is due! Two poses for the price of one. Gold star, girls! Benny Ninja (friend in my head and past Model of the Moment) truly brings out the drag diva in everyone. LOVE IT!

Do Try This At Home

She better work!

Former O.C. tartlet Rachel Bilson is the covergirl for February's GQ magazine...and the world collectively yawned. BUT as I was breezing through the outtakes of her photo shoot, I stumbled upon this beauty of a shot. Loving the fierce bicycle pose, Rach! Ever since Beyonce struck
a similar pose in her video for "Ring the Alarm," I have been actively incorporating it into my daily life. First, it's a fabulous way to showcase your footwear. And second, who doesn't like to strike a ferocious pose at opportune moments? Life is a photo shoot, people!
asdfasd
For instance, if I'm laughing really hard, like one of those laughs where I have to fall out, I'll casually go into a Stretch Bicycle. It's kinda my thing. Be careful though, I almost kicked a waiter at Dave & Busters the other weekend. He loved every minute of it.

So cupcakes, why not try this at home, take a pic and send it in to your girl! That's inawordfab@gmail.com. Let's have a mother-effin pose off!
