Fab Fall Booties!

YSL Caged Booties
$1,130

Did you go gaga for the sinfully strappy Yves Saint Laurent Caged Booties on the YSL Spring 2009 runway? If so, we've got something in common! And lucky for us, the knockoffs have hit the market.

$59.99

Infinitely more wearable than the original and for a tenth of the price? These Bakers heels are a no-brainer.

I just scooped up a similar pair (but with a thinner, higher heel) by Michael Antonio through my Shoe Dazzle subscription. Perfect paired with everything from black skinnies to a belted floral dress, I can't stop wearing them! Go on, give your Fall wardrobe some serious edge.

Monday night's Costume Institute Gala at the Met, the yearly event that never fails to bring out fashion's elite and Hollywood's glitterati, was a salute to supermodels hosted by Kate Moss (in a faaabulous metallic turban by Stephen Jones) and designer Marc Jacobs. It's fitting then that many of the models in attendance signaled a serious trend in cocktail wear: short dress, bare legs, and ankle-high booties!

Liya Kebede in Derek Lam

Alexander Wang and Lara Stone in his design

Hilary Rhoda in Thakoon

Bradley Cooper and Caroline Winberg in Emilio Pucci

Arlenis Sosa Pena in Alberta Ferretti

Who says you have to pair a short and sparkly with strappy, delicate sandals? Instead, try this rockin' trend for yourself!

Kanye for LV

Kanye and his arm candy du jour Amber Rose (hot) have been captured in photos for Mr. West's recent collabo with Louis Vuitton - a line of monochrome, leather, and suede sneakers. Fresh. Mere mortals can get their hands on a pair in June, although Kanye has been rocking his for months. Photos by Steve Shaw.

Budget-nista Alert! Join Kim Kardashian's Shoe Society

Have you ever wished you could get into Kim Kardashian's pants (oops, I mean) shoes? But of course! Lucky for us, Kim is inviting us all into her pants (dammit! I mean) club for the shoe obsessed! Her newest venture, ShoeDazzle.com, is a personal shoe shopping service that caters to your cheap and chic footwear needs on a monthly basis.

How do they do it? Take the Style Sensibility quiz that will determine your signature look and input your credit card info to sign up for the society. Then, for $39 per month, the site's stylists (and Kim herself) will pull five stilettos, flats, booties or sandals that they think you will simply adore, and you get to choose one to add to your collection!
-
The best part? Your credit card isn't charged until you pick your first shoe and you can choose to skip a month at any time. Warning: if you are looking for classic, simple shoes made from the best natural materials, do yourself a favor and head to Barney's. But if you like to stay on top of the latest shoe trends, wear the highest of heels and don't mind if they are only meant to last a season...this site is for you.

Christian Siriano for Payless

Photo: Imaxtree

Have you heard? Project Runway winner Christian Siriano has collaborated with Payless (one of my guiltiest pleasures) for his first-ever footwear and handbag collection, Christian Siriano for Payless.

Christian debuted his line of Cleopatra-inspired footwear and bags at his show during NY Fashion Week and from the looks of it, the collection will be amazing! The lush line combines a color palette of uber-rich chocolates, shimmering gold (check out the cone heels!) and printed aqua satin with hard rock details like spikes, chains, and studs.

All of this and more will be available beginning in September exclusively in Payless stores and on Payless.com for $25 to $45.

Recession-proof pricing!

Now Wear This! Lisa F. Pliner Shoes

The Indira

Lisa F. Pliner, former member of Versace's creative team and wife of shoe designer, Donald J. Pliner, is launching a namesake collection for Fall 2009. Acting as the Creative Director and muse of Donald J. Pliner (or DJP as I like to call him) for more than 10 years, Lisa is more ready than ever to branch out on her own.

While DJP's are known for their comfort, Lisa's line has the same benefits but with a sexed-up vibe. Featuring sky-high platforms, innovative straps, and supple materials like Haircalf, Lizard, Suede and butter soft Nappa leather, comfort has never looked so good. You can pick up a pair at specialty boutiques and Donald J. Pliner stores.

The Look for Less

Sarah Jessica Parker has been spotted at events around the world in her favorite accessory of the moment, two-tone metallic Balenciaga pumps with spike metal heels. Hot. Want the look but not the price tag?

Newport News is selling their two-tone Metallic Cap Pump for $25! I love a shoe that is both recession-proof and can take you from day to night with ease. Give them a spin and give SJP a run for her money.

Payless just got fiercer-er

Oh snap! Project Runway winner Christian Siriano has collaborated with Payless (one of my guiltiest pleasures) for his first-ever footwear and handbag collection, Christian Siriano for Payless.

The new collection will debut during February's New York Fashion Week and will then be available exclusively in Payless stores and on Payless.com for $25 to $45.

"I'm so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend but, most importantly, is also about affordability," said Siriano. "I've already been working with the Payless Design Team in New York, and I can't wait to see how they will take the high- end shoes and bags I'm designing for the runway and turn them into pieces that everyone can buy. I'm all about the runway and the sidewalks!"

Interestingly, right after his PR win, Christian was asked by the Miami Herald whom he would make over if he had the chance. He said: "Britney — I need to save her and take her under my little wing. She used to look good, but now she’s all over the place. She needs a couple of good dresses and good heels, some Louis Vuittons, not cheesy Payless. I understand she’s on a budget, but c’mon girl!”

Payless isn't so cheesy now, is it Chrissy-poo? But hey let's face it, we've all talked ish about Payless once or a million times.

I, for one, am super excited about the collection...here's hoping it's better than Patricia Field's.

A Concept Store Pops Up

For all my New York City sneaker-holics (and there should prolly be some sort of Sneaker-holics Anonymous) Reebok just opened its first "Flash" pop-up store at 169 Bowery today. The concept store will only be open for four weeks (closing Dec. 15), and each week will debut a newly released, limited edition sneaker, available for that week only.

Look out for never before seen apparel and sneakers inspired by New York, with the first release being this NYC Court Victory Pump, retailing for $135. Does the insole really say ATM? You can check out more pics here.

I definitely have to make my way down to Bowery, the store will be gone in a flash!

You Better Work...

...Legwork that is! Ever wonder how certain women can practically prance along city streets in the highest of heels? Would you wear more heels if you weren't so deathly afraid of snapping an ankle? Legwork, the first workout DVD made specifically to increase grace, sex appeal and confidence in heels, just may be the answer to a prayer. A team of dancers, podiatrists, shoe designers and fitness experts collaborated on this gam-focused mix of pilates, yoga, and strengthening that will take you from an awkward ankled Agnes to a sexy stiletto-ed Suzette. Even experienced high heel wearers can use this fitness program to increase endurance and step up their stiletto swag.

Elle Magazine named Legwork as a top-tested DVD...why not try it out for yourself? Who knows, after a few weeks, you may just be skipping in your four-inch platforms a la Carrie Bradshaw! Get it here!

A Fall Classic: Knee-High Boots

Fall is one of the hardest seasons to dress for, but with the help of that one special piece, you can always be ready for the unpredictable weather. The Fall fix? Boots! Right now, booties are all the rage, but a knee-high boot will forever be ultra-classic. Celebs like Hayden Panettiere and Blake Lively have adopted the look and of course our favorite fashionista, Rihanna, has made it one of her staples...

High boots are just so versatile! They can be worn with leggings and jeans for the more mundane mamas of the world, but for us divas who like a little attention, shorts paired with boots can knock the socks off a crisp day. Try pairing your boots with tweed shorts, wool tights and a great jacket. Another great look is a mini skirt with patterned stockings and boots, and even a dress with a scarf and boots will do the trick! I must say, all this talk has me looking forward to the decrease in degrees. If you want the look of the season, try these on for size:

And for those of us who can't fathom living without our heels, try these:

Heels are so last year

Posh Becks once again served it up for the haters at her Macy's perfume launch over the weekend. I can't with her. Some women can't even walk in heels, and this bish is doing point in 5 1/2 inch heel-less latex boots. I have no words. Fierce doesn't do her justice. She even managed to outshine David Beckham, which is no easy task, people.

The oh-so-demure Antonio Berardi originals are custom-made thigh-high PVC boots that retail for £3,300. But Berardi is an old friend of the Beckhams (he made their wedding reception outfits nine years ago) so I'm quite sure Posh got the low low.

You have to admit, the boots are feroshe* but did anyone actually see her walking in them? I have a feeling her handlers pushed her in a wheelchair from location to location and propped her up for the cameras.

Sooo, the question remains: would you throw caution to the wind, damn the haters, and wear these boots?

*ferocious, darling

Karma Camileon: Convertible Heels

On your average day, I'm in heels. For one, I'm 5'2". 'Nuff said. But also, I think a heel can really make an outfit, and boy does it make you feel good! The downside? As many of us stiletto-lovers know, walking up and down stairs, running for the subway, gallivanting through the city, cruising stores and boutiques...whew! After a while, it can be killer on your feet. So, everytime I wear my heels, you can be sure I have a pair of flats in my bag.
asdfs
Well, Camileon Heels to the rescue! Welcome to the innovative world of adjustable height shoes. David Handel started working on the idea in 1989 when he noticed beautifully dressed women walking down 5th Avenue with sneakers on their feet. With Transformers being the toy craze at the time, he figured that "if they could turn robots into high performance vehicles, there must be a way to transform a high heel into a low heeled, comfort version of the very same shoe." Now, almost twenty years later, Camileon Heels, made in Italy from the finest leathers, is the first fully functioning, convertible shoe for women.

MARIELLA $300.00

You can find them in retail stores in 14 states, including, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Arizona. And, of course, they're sold online for as little as $210! Visit camileonheels.com and get your very own adjustable heels. Your feet will thank you!
