Do tights = pants?

The divalicious JHud was spotted at LAX on Monday looking comfy and ready to take flight in her travel wear, and she reminded me of a question Nylon Magazine posed in it's Young Hollywood Issue (May 2008). Are leggings to be worn in lieu of pants? Are tights alright as more than an undergarment?

Tyra clearly thinks so. Oh and Mary Kate, Ashley and Lindsay have pretty much decided to wear leggings in lieu of pants from now until henceforth. As much as I am a fan of tights and leggings under long tops or short skirts, the whole phenomenon of wearing them as pants makes me uneasy. IMO, it's just too much information.
fasdf

What do you think? Are leggings as pants totally bohemian chic? Or should these women be fined for the crime of cameltoe?

P.S. There's a whole website dedicated to stopping the movement of tights as pants, check it out here...

Fab Look of the Day

Be still my heart! Victoria Secret model Miranda Kerr gets an A+ in my book for making a flawless appearance at Doncaster Day at the Australian Derby in Sydney, Australia. Ms. Miranda went back to black in a beautifully fitted long-sleeved Collette Dinnigan dress and accessorized with a classic Prada clutch, YSL pumps and a vintage-style netted hat. Her best accessory? Orlando Bloom on her arm of course! I've said it before and will say it again, a hot (not to mention rich) man is the best accessory a woman can have.

Some may think she looks like she should be attending a funeral, but let me tell you honey, nothing says glamour like head to toe black. Oh so Jackie O. I am also really into these heirloom style hats at the moment, they make such a fiercely feminine statement. Dita Von Teese is somewhere applauding (or hating, depending on her mood).

Thumbs up, Miranda-luv!

The Stretch Bicycle lives!

Just when I think all is lost, my evil twin F.U. sends me a picture of my favorite ferocious pose, the Stretch Bicycle, and all is right with the world. It's really the pose that keeps on giving. Here is the delightful Amerie, working it like nobody's business. Check out my other favorite Stretch Bicycle poses, here...

Happy Birthday Blog!

Stop the presses, serve up the Skinny Girl Margarita's and zsush it up on the blogger! Inaword...fab, my precious lil blog, turned one year old today. Mother is so proud.
asdfafd
It seems like I was just celebrating 100 posts, and now I'm reflecting on a whole year of fabulosity. It's crazy. I never imagined I would be blogging. I'm not even on Myspace. But there was something about writing that first post that really resonated with me...and I've been hooked ever since!
asdfas
It's been such an amazing year. I've styled some fabulous women, attended my first Fashion Week, had some serious girl talk with the Fab Gay Man, dished about all the trends, written Open Letters to the fashionably misguided, been Out About Town, crowned 7 Models of the Moment, looked into my crystal ball, given some fabulous style advice, buzzed on all things beauty-full and did I mention the gay men?
asdfads
Such revelrous fun...and I couldn't be more excited for all that is to come! You do know that it's only going to get more fabulous, right? Stay tuned...
asdfad
Thank you thank you thank you to all the warm, wonderful people I've connected with since the beginning. I continue to be amazed at the love and support that inaword...fab gets. Thank you all so much for being a part of my life...in the fab lane!

A Lil Friday Sparkle

Epiphany Platinum Clad Diamonique Canary Ring $53.25

So divas, yesterday was Diamonique Day on QVC and I was reminded how much I love this stuff. Sure, it's pretty corny to actually admit that you buy "simulated" stones, and from a home shopping network no less, but the truth is they have some really fabulous designs, all set in genuine precious metals. And really, it's all about the prices! Super affordable. And from cocktail rings to studs to bracelets and chains, there are styles to suit every personality. Plus, since their fakes, they're automatically conflict-free. Why break your budget buying diamonds, when you can buy Diamonique?

Oh Happy Day

Perchance were you planning to do a little Spring shopping at Neiman Marcus? The time to go is now! They're running a promotion where if you charge more than $500 on a Neiman's credit card, you get a $200 gift certificate good on any regular price item in the Women's Department.
asdfasd
As luck would have it, I was on the recieving end of one of these gift certificates when my GBFF's new boyfriend put some Prada loafers on his card and thought of me. $200 off? Any item? I saw my fashion life flash before my eyes, promptly dropped everything and met him at Short Hills Mall. After a lot of hemming, hawing and trying on, we decided on the above...the cutest Theory colorblocked dress with perfectly cinched black waistband. I almost went with a darling Alice + Olivia silk bubble dress, but this one got me. I love how it feels casual, sweet and sexy at the same time.
asdfa
The best part? It cost me $25! Yup, the fashion gods were smiling on me...and I'll be forever grateful.

Useless Fashion Word of the Day

Milliner - A person that makes, trims, designs, or sells women's hats, often uniquely handcrafted using interesting fabrics or objects. Stenming from the root word, Milan, darling, where women's finery was imported from in the 16th century.

Out About Town: Bryce's Birthday

The birthday girl...gorgeous darling.

On Thursday night, I had the distinct pleasure of feting the fabulous Bryce Gruber, owner of IntenCity Global PR and Salonika Ltd. Jewelry, at a birthday celebration in her honor. The venue was the cavernous D'Or, which was the perfect setting for me to mix and mingle, with digi cam in hand, amongst the lovelies in attendance. Here's my night in a nutshell...

The first person I see? Richie Rich of Heatherette of course. Here he is working the pout with Chris Coffee of Gotham Lasik.

Stylist Matthew Anderson and I became fast friends...he saved me from the clutches of a cornball!

You know this was love at first sight...too fierce.

Bryce with her model friend, Sam Singer.

These party girls were soon dancing on the dark chocolate banquettes.

I met the dapper Ronnie Williams (on right) that night, here with a friend...

...and again here with his boo. So get this: we ran into each other again at the end of the night (roundabout 6 am) in my building in NJ! I was getting on the elevator as he was getting off. Crazy right? We're def going to KIT.

He gave good face.

Love them...they were such bubbly fun!

Working the pose from his perch.

Loving the man cleavage.

Poppin' perm? Check. 80's glasses? Check. Keffiyah scarf? Check. I heart NY tee? Check. Fabulosity? Quadruple check.

I definitely felt her colorful tie-dyed top and big beauteous hair.

Nikolaj from Finland...sooo cute. He lit our drinks on fire and made me giggle.

His friend Mikkel was rocking the Dita Von Teese tee by Marc Jacobs.

Her smile just sparkled.

A lil percussion never hurt anybody.

The Hawaiian Tropic Zone Dancers shook a tailfeatha.

OMG! This was sooo the highlight of my night. The Countess LuAnn from Real Housewives of New York City made an appearance! I'm gaga for her. Fab indeed.

Photographer Antwan Duncan took a bunch of cool pics for Guest of a Guest...here's my close up.

Thanks Bryce and F.U.!

Open Letter to Jenna Jameson

Dearest Jenna,

I almost choked on my low carb bagel just now. Honey, this may just be the worst eye makeup I have ever witnessed first hand. Worse even than a thin strip of chalk white shadow on the upper lash line of a brown-skinned chick (soooo effin wrong). Sure, you're a porn star extraordinaire. Therefore, my style expectations for you are pretty much non-existent. But this is beyond my comprehension. Seriously, poptart, you look like an komodo dragon. That makeup would only be appropriate had you tucked your twig and berries into a couture gown and worked the runway at drag ball to 'Let No Man Put Asunder.' Do us all a favor and fire your makeup artist, stat. He/she obviously can't be trusted.

Luh you boo,

Elle

Red Carpet Roundup: US' Hot Hollywood Bash

US Weekly hosted their annual Hot Hollywood fete and the stars hit the eggplant-colored carpet in style. Short, flirty dresses were definitely the theme of the night. Style Icon of The Year, Heidi Klum, looked simply fab in her purple mini dress by Project Runway runner up, Rami Kashou.

Adrienne Bailon gets high marks for this nude metallic dress, also by Rami Kashou, and sparkly blue sandals. I looove this look from head to toe.

Lauren Conrad chose an aqua Catherine Malandrino dress with large paillettes and Christian Louboutin heels. Blah. As the "Celebrity Designer of the Year," wouldn't it have made sense to wear one of her own designs?

Now this Catherine Malandrino dress is sooo much better. Jordana Brewster looks super sweet in this black and white dress with the most darling embroidered concentric circle details.

I love the super feminine draping and gorgeous ruffles on Lindsay Price's creamy champagne confection. Next time though, she should remember to carry blotting papers.

Cutie Christina Milian looked a tad tanorexic in her Louis Vuitton cocktail dress, but I like how she accessorized with a gold cuff, matching metallic bag and T-strap heels.

My favorite mess, Aubrey O'Day picked an Alice + Olivia mini dress with rosettes. Not a fan.

Sanaa can do no wrong in my book. Here she is in a trendy tiered dress and cream heels.

Lo looks oh so appropriate for a Hot Hollywood party and is showing just enough skin in this sheer navy frock.

Eve shined in her bright celery Jay Godfrey dress, I just wish she would have zipped the zipper. I'm so over her cleavage tats.

Poor, poor Rumer Willis. Despite her fabulously form fitting Herve Leger bandage dress, she puts the butt in butterface.
